Is the world helping or hurting Indian shares?

Where does each economy stand?

Fourteen economies on ten measures, each reading placed in that economy's own history since 2000, so a deep tint means unusual for that country, not high or low by world standards. India grew 7.8% in Q2 2026, with inflation at 4.8% and a real policy rate of +0.4 pts. Six pages below take each question in turn.

Written for investors who want the world economy in one view, and India's place in it. Data to Aug 2026.

The board

Read across a row for one economy, down a column for one measure. The number is the latest reading; the small figure under it, its percentile since 2000. Click a column's name for the page that explains it.

In each cell: the latest reading, and below it its percentile in that economy's own history since January 2000 (100 = the highest since then). Tint follows the percentile. An asterisk marks a reading older than the column's date; a dot, a series the source does not publish. India uses MoSPI's GDP and CPI and RBI's repo rate; the US uses BEA's GDP.
